Stop eating high fat and fast food. Eating junk food affects your brain, heart and health in general. Everything that has a high salt, cholesterol and fats saturation is considered to be fast food. 2. Exercise on daily basis
Exercising each day is just as important as brushing your teeth. It should be a daily routing, so try to do at least half an hour of exercising every day. Turn off the TV and computer and start working out. You should do an aerobic exercise if you want to work your heart. You have lots of options like jogging, biking, walking, swimming etc. You don’t have to force yourself into becoming an athlete, even just walking is enough exercising for starters. Walk a few times a day for 10 minutes and you have done a great work. Simple tricks will do the job. For example, you can park at the end of the parking lot and walk more to the office. Don’t take the elevator, take the stairs. Use public transport and get off one stop before your stop. Walk to a restaurant for lunch or walk with your significant other or friends after work. The bonus for the physical activity is less stress.
3. Take physical exams regularly
Learn about your personal risk factors and tell your doctor about the medical history in your family. For cervical cancer women have Pap tests and mammograms for breast cancer. Prostate cancer PSA tests are for men. Around the age of 50 people should start checking for colorectal cancer. You can start even earlier if that type of cancer runs in your family. Do cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure tests regularly. If necessary take pneumonia and flu shots.
4. Less stress
If a person says there isn’t enough time for exercise then that person gives priority to the wrong things. Spending time with friends and family, eating healthy, exercising and sleeping are the most important things that a person should never neglect. These are crucial to good health and long life because they are major stress redactors. You must be able to set some boundaries. You cannot work too hard and too many hours a week. Never neglect the things that keep you healthy and alive. People who take care of elderly people or children should especially take this into consideration. Don’t try too much.
5. Weight loss
Excess body weight put you in health risk. If you eat more than you spend then you will gain weight. You must eat less and exercise more. Push yourself into making the right lifestyle choices and you will avoid major disease like diabetes, stoke and heart diseases.
